Washington Capitals forward Marcus Johansson has been ruled out of Saturday’s matinee against the visiting New York Rangers due to a non-COVID illness.
Saturday’s game will be the first that Johansson has missed this season.
Johansson’s 13 goals this season rank only behind star captain Alex Ovechkin (32) for the team lead. The 32-year-old Swede also has 15 assists.
Johansson has totaled 435 points (157 goals, 278 assists) in 813 career games with the Capitals, New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, Minnesota Wild and Seattle Kraken.
