Free-agent guard Will Hernandez signed a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday.
Financial terms were not disclosed by the team.
Hernandez, who turns 30 on Sept. 2, is working his way back from a torn left ACL that ended his 2024 season. Hernandez, who became a free agent after the season, will start the 2025 campaign on the active/physically unable to perform list.
He joined the Cardinals in 2022 after four seasons with the New York Giants.
“Will plays hard,” Cardinals offensive coordinator Drew Petzing said. “You see the physicality and the movement skills. We have a lot of familiarity with him.”
Second-year Isaiah Adams likely will serve as the team’s starting right guard, while Evan Brown will get the nod at left guard.
Hernandez started at left and right guard during his pro career, playing in 97 games (91 starts). He was a second-round pick by the Giants in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Also on Thursday, the Cardinals released cornerback Keni-H Lovely.
