The Kansas City Chiefs’ leading wide receiver Rashee Rice left Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers after colliding with his own quarterback.
Rice was helped off the field and then carted to the locker room in the first quarter after a scramble for a fumble during an interception return.
The Chargers’ Kristian Fulton intercepted Mahomes and returned it 29 yards before Rice punched the ball loose. Mahomes collided with Rice’s legs while trying to tackle Fulton. Rice’s one knee appeared to get hyperextended in the melee.
The Chiefs ruled Rice out for the rest of the game.
Rice did not have a catch in the game. He entered Week 4 leading the team in catches (24) and yards (288). He has two touchdowns on the season.
