Cole Perfetti earned three assists as the visiting Winnipeg Jets defeated the St. Louis Blues 3-2 on Tuesday to remain undefeated.

Nino Niederreiter, Colin Miller and Kyle Connor scored in the second period for the Jets, who extended the best start in franchise history by improving to 6-0-0. Connor Hellebuyck made 27 saves to earn his fifth victory of the season.

Brandon Saad scored twice for the Blues, earning his 500th and 501st career points. Robert Thomas had two assists before exiting the game in the third period after blocking a shot with his skate.

Jordan Binnington made 21 saves as St. Louis had it two-game winning streak end.

The Blues outshot the Jets 11-6 in the first period and took a 1-0 lead.

Thomas created the scoring opportunity midway through the period by circling high in the offensive zone and firing a shot from just inside the blue line. Saad parked at the left post and banged in the rebound at 10:11.

The Blues nearly doubled their lead with 1:35 left in the first period when Brayden Schenn fired a bad-angle shot from the left side and Dylan Holloway put the rebound back on goal.

The Jets tied the game 1-1 on their second power play. Neal Pionk fired a shot from the right point and Niederreiter deflected it past Binnington at 8:12 of the middle period.

Winnipeg took a 2-1 lead at 13:58 of the second by scoring off the rush. Miller moved up as the trailer and converted Perfetti’s drop pass with a blast from the right point.

Connor made it 3-1 by taking a pass from Dylan Samberg and snapping a shot past Binnington from the left faceoff dot at 17:40 of the second.

St. Louis cuts it deficit to 3-2 at the 5:15 mark of the third period. Jordan Kyrou fired a shot from the left circle and Saad converted another rebound goal.

Binnington kept the Blues in the game by extending his right skate to prevent Mark Scheifele from stuffing a shot into the net. But St. Louis could not pull even after pulling Binnington for an extra attacker.
