World No. 4 Collin Morikawa was one of three golfers to withdraw from the upcoming Farmers Insurance Open on Sunday.
Morikawa joined Nicolai Hojgaard of Denmark and Tyler McCumber in bowing out of the 156-golfer field at famed Torrey Pines. They will be replaced by Wesley Bryan, Hayden Springer and South Korea’s S.H. Kim, respectively.
There were no official reasons declared for the departures.
The news comes one day after World No. 2 Xander Schauffele confirmed he was pulling out of the San Diego event due to a “medical issue.”
Morikawa finished in second at The Sentry in his lone start of the calendar year.
The Farmers Insurance Open is being contested from Wednesday to Saturday as a means to avoid the final round being contested against the NFL’s conference championship games next Sunday.
