The WNBA will have a test run in Canada in 2025 when the Atlanta Dream face the Seattle Storm on Aug. 15 at Vancouver, B.C., in the league’s first regular-season game outside of the United States.
The Canada game comes in advance of the 2026 debut of the expansion Toronto Tempo.
The WNBA has played outside of the U.S. in exhibition games five teams. The Dream faced the Great Britain women’s national team in England in 2011. The Storm faced the Los Angeles Sparks in a preseason game at Edmonton, Alberta, earlier this year.
Upcoming WNBA expansion includes the 2025 debut of the Golden State Valkyries, who will play in San Francisco. A franchise in Portland, Ore., will make its debut in 2026 along with Toronto.
