Alex Killorn scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third period and the Anaheim Ducks beat the visiting Nashville Predators 2-1 on Friday night
Troy Terry also scored for the Ducks, who had lost four of five, and Lukas Dostal made 28 saves.
Jakub Vrana scored for the Predators, who had won four straight. Juuse Saros made 13 saves.
Nashville forward Michael Bunting, acquired last week from the Pittsburgh Penguins, played 15:04 and was minus-2 in his Predators debut.
Anaheim had two power plays in the first period but managed just two shots on those chances and was outshot 8-5 over the first 20 minutes.
Terry gave the Ducks a 1-0 lead at 15:52 of the second period. Nashville’s Justin Barron was skating out from behind his own net when his stick broke and he lost the puck. Frank Vatrano controlled the puck and passed across the slot to Terry, who beat Saros with a wrist shot from the left circle. It was Terry’s 18th goal of the season.
Dostal made 11 saves in the period.
Vrana tied the score at 1 with a power-play goal at 4:25 of the third period. Vrana received a pass from Brady Skjei and fired a slap shot from the blue line. Dostal got a glove on it, but the puck trickled in.
It was the first goal as a Predator for Vrana, who was claimed off waivers last week after beginning the season with the Washington Capitals.
Nashville later had a 5-on-3 power-play advantage for 70 seconds, but Dostal made a stick save on Filip Forsberg to thwart the Predators’ best chance.
Killorn gave the Ducks a 2-1 lead at 11:20 of the period. Anaheim entered the zone 3-on-2 and Leo Carlsson passed to Trevor Zegras, who slid a backhand pass to Killorn skating across the slot and he slid the puck past Saros.
