Robby Fabbri scored two goals to help the visiting Anaheim Ducks rally for a 5-4 shootout victory against the Utah Hockey Club on Sunday in Salt Lake City.
Isac Lundestrom and Brett Leason also scored in regulation, Mason McTavish scored the lone goal in the shootout and Lukas Dostal made 21 saves for the Ducks, who rallied from a 4-1 deficit to win for the third time in four games.
Clayton Keller had two goals and two assists, Barrett Hayton had a goal and an assist, Logan Cooley also scored and Jaxson Stauber made 26 saves in his third start of the season for Utah, which had its four-game winning streak end, but extended its point streak to eight games (6-0-2).
Lundestrom began the comeback when he scored off a backdoor feed from Olen Zellweger to cut it to 4-2 at 10:49 of the second.
The Ducks failed to take advantage of a 5-on-3 for 52 seconds early in the third period before cutting it to 4-3 at 12:35.
Fabbri was credited with his second goal after he was the last to touch the puck before Stauber inadvertently knocked it across the goal line while trying to cover it.
The Ducks were 0-for-5 on the power play when Leason scored with a wrist shot from the slot with the man-advantage to tie it 4-4 at 15:15.
Keller was credited with the goal that gave Utah a 1-0 lead at 1:26 of the first period.
Juuso Valimaki sent a wrist shot from the point that was deflected on the way to the net by Keller. Dostal made a pad save, but the rebound went off the skate of Zellweger and into his own net.
Fabbri sprung loose on a 2-on-1 break with McTavish and elected to shoot the puck, scoring on the short side to tie the score 1-1 at 4:56 of the first.
The teams were skating 4-on-4 when Hayton received a pass from Keller in front of the Anaheim net, spun and slid the puck through the Dostal’s pads to move Utah ahead 2-1 at 16:09 of the first.
Keller set up Cooley for a one-timer from the right circle while on a power play to extend the lead to 3-1 at 2:39 of the second period.
Keller sent a wrist shot through traffic and into the net to make it 4-1 at 5:57 of the second.
