Brazilian featherweight Edson Barboza has been forced out of Seattle’s Feb. 22 UFC event due to injury.
The 39-year-old Barboza (24-12 MMA, 18-12 UFC) had been scheduled to face Steve Garcia at UFC Fight Night 252 at Climate Pledge Arena.
Multiple outlets reported Barboza’s removal from the card on Thursday.
UFC officials have not made an official announcement or said whether a replacement will be named to fight Garcia (17-5 MMA, 6-2 UFC).
Barboza has not fought since losing a unanimous decision to Lerone Murphy in Las Vegas on May 18.
