Superstar Caitlin Clark is out of the Indiana Fever’s game against the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday in Indianapolis due to a left groin injury.
It is not immediately known if Clark will miss an extended period of time for the Fever (7-7), who announced the No. 1 pick in the 2024 draft wouldn’t play in Thursday’s game.
Clark, 23, sat out five games due to a left quad injury before returning to action against the Liberty on June 14. She scored 32 points in her return, but is just 1-for-23 from 3-point range in three games following the game against the Liberty.
The second-year guard is averaging 18.2 points, 8.9 assists and 5.6 rebounds in nine games (all starts) this season for Indiana. Clark is shooting 39.0 percent from the field and 29.5 percent from 3-point range.
Clark won Rookie of the Year honors and made the All-Star and All-WNBA teams in 2024-25 following a record-setting career at Iowa.
