Former Miami guard Haley Cavinder announced Monday she is unretiring and transferring to TCU.
Cavinder, along with twin sister Hanna, helped the Hurricanes reach the Elite Eight last spring but both left after the playoff run to pursue careers as social influencers.
Hanna is not planning a return to college basketball.
Haley Cavinder is not likely to play this season because the NCAA would need to grant a waiver, and the governing body has still not issued rulings on waivers for players who transferred last spring.
She won Mountain West Conference Player of the Year honors in 2021, and, in four seasons at Fresno State and Miami, produced averages of 16.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.
Haley Cavinder scored 12.2 points per game with Miami last season, earning second-team All-ACC honors.
In her announcement via social media Monday, she used the caption, “The last rodeo #committed,” along with a photo of herself in a TCU uniform.
The Cavinder twins have 4.5 million TikTok followers.
