New York Giants edge rusher Brian Burns popped up on the injury list with a groin issue Friday and is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.
Burns was a limited practice participant and experienced tightness on Friday.
New York landed Burns with a five-year, $141 million deal as a free agent in the offseason but he has made little impact in the first two games. He doesn’t have a sack or quarterback hit during the Giants’ 0-2 start.
Burns had 46 sacks in five seasons with the Carolina Panthers before departing for New York.
Cornerback Nick McCloud (knee) will miss the game and inside linebacker Darius Muasau (knee) is questionable.
Also, Giants outside linebackers coach Charlie Bullen will not travel with the team to Cleveland. Defensive assistant Ben Burress will handle Bullen’s duties.
