The Vegas Golden Knights signed defenseman Shea Theodore to a seven-year, $51.975 million extension on Thursday.
The contract has an average annual value of $7.425 million. It starts next season and runs through the 2031-32 campaign.
Theodore, 29, is in eighth season with the Golden Knights. Theodore, Noah Hanifin and Alex Pietrangelo form one of the top trios of defensemen in the NHL.
He had 13 points in the postseason (one goal, 12 assists) when the Golden Knights won the 2023 Stanley Cup.
Theodore has one goal and six assists in six games this season.
He has reached double digits in goals three times during his career, including 14 during 2021-22. His career high of 52 points came in the same season.
Overall, Theodore has 72 goals and 241 assists (313 points) in 503 games over 10 seasons with the Anaheim Ducks (2015-17) and Vegas.
In 114 career postseason games, Theodore has 15 goals and 53 assists.
