Gotham FC is adding Brazilian national team forward Geyse on a one-year loan from FA Women’s Super League side Manchester United.
The loan runs through the 2025 season, but the agreement between the sides includes the option for a permanent transfer.
Geyse, 26, has extensive big-match experience. She won the 2022 Copa America Femenina with Brazil and the 2023 Spanish league title and UEFA Women’s Champions League with Barcelona, as well as a league championship in Portugal.
“I am very happy and excited to join Gotham FC for this season,” Geyse said. “I chose Gotham FC because they have a winning profile and a lot of ambition to win titles.”
The franchise won the 2023 NWSL championship.
Fellow Brazil team members Bruninha and Gabi Portilho are also on the Gotham FC roster.
Geyse made 27 appearances for Manchester United, scoring two goals and adding four assists. With the national team, she has eight goals in 56 appearances and was a member of the team at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
