Assistant coach Guy Boucher will not be part of the first staff of new Toronto Maple Leafs coach Craig Berube.
The club announced Saturday that Boucher won’t return for the 2024-25 season.
Boucher, 52, was part of coach Sheldon Keefe’s staff last season. The Maple Leafs finished the regular season with a 46-26-10 record, but Keefe was fired after the team lost to the Boston Bruins in the first round of the playoffs in seven games.
Boucher previously was the head coach of two NHL teams, finishing 97-78-20 with the Tampa Bay Lightning (2010-13) and 94-108-26 with the Ottawa Senators (2016-19).
Berube named former New York Islanders head coach Lane Lambert as associate coach of the Maple Leafs earlier this month.
