Jairzinho Rozenstruik defeated Shamil Gaziev by TKO in the fourth round of their heavyweight bout in the main event of UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
The referee stopped the fight in between rounds after Gaziev said he could not continue, citing impaired vision.
“I didn’t rush to knock him out,” Rozenstruik said. “My patience paid off. I took some real time to work on myself. … My corner gave me the right instruction, which was to stick to the jab. The longer the fight took, I started to hurt him and eventually he gave up.”
Rozenstruik (14-5) landed 140 strikes to just 27 for Gaziev (12-1), including 127 significant strikes.
