Jordan Ta’amu threw for 278 yards and three touchdowns, lifting the visiting D.C. Defenders to a 32-24 win over the San Antonio Brahmas on Friday.
A 57-yard touchdown run by Jashaun Corbin pulled San Antonio within 25-24 with 9:27 remaining, but the two-point conversion attempt failed.
D.C. (5-2) then drove 13 plays and 79 yards, taking 7:32 off the clock before Ta’amu hit Gunner Britton for a 4-yard touchdown with 1:55 to play. Javon Antonio caught a one-point conversion pass to cap the scoring.
Ta’amu connected on 19 of 24 passes, including a 76-yard TD toss to Braylon Sanders. Briley Moore-McKinney finished with five catches for 71 yards, and Cornell Powell logged five receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown.
Corbin gained 109 yards on nine carries for the Brahmas (1-6). Kevin Hogan completed 20 of 31 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns, and Jontre Kirklin made seven receptions for 52 yards.
