Kelsey Plum scored 25 points, A’ja Wilson recorded 23 points, 13 rebounds and five assists and the Las Vegas Aces avenged their lone defeat with a convincing 102-84 home victory over the Connecticut Sun on Saturday afternoon.
Candace Parker added 15 points, eight assists and three steals for Las Vegas (15-1). Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young had 11 points apiece as the Aces improved to 9-0 at home.
Las Vegas has notched eight straight victories since falling to the host Sun 94-77 on June 8. The Aces won the season series 2-1.
DeWanna Bonner scored 19 points and Natisha Hiedeman added 13 points for Connecticut (12-5), which lost its second straight game. Alyssa Thomas had 12 points and 11 assists and DiJonai Carrington had 12 points.
The Aces shot 50 percent from the field, including 7 of 23 from 3-point range, while topping 90 points for the 13th time this season and 100 for the third. Plum was 4-of-4 from behind the arc.
The Sun made 47.1 percent of their shots and made 6 of 20 from 3-point range.
Las Vegas led by 11 at halftime and then exploded for the first 17 points of the second half.
Wilson scored eight points during the surge, including a basket to make it 75-48 with 5:57 left in the third quarter. Gray made a technical 81 seconds later to cap the run.
Plum and Young each made 3-pointers and Parker also had a hoop during the decisive run.
A three-point play by Carrington with 4:31 left represented Connecticut’s first points of the quarter.
Las Vegas led 84-63 after three quarters and continued to pour it on in the final stanza. Kierstan Bell’s 3-pointer made it 100-71 with 4:29 left as the Aces closed out their 10th double-digit triumph of the season.
Wilson scored 14 points and Parker had 13 on 6-of-7 shooting as the Aces led 59-48 at the break. Las Vegas shot 62.9 percent in the half. Bonner scored 17 and Hiedeman had 13 in the half for the Sun.
