The Los Angeles Kings acquired Zack MacEwen from the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday in exchange for fellow forward Brendan Lemieux and a fifth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.
MacEwen, 26, has recorded nine points (four goals, five assists) in 46 games this season. He had just been activated off injured reserve on Thursday.
MacEwen has totaled 27 points (13 goals, 14 assists) in 176 career games with the Vancouver Canucks and Flyers.
Lemieux, 26, has notched three assists in 27 games this season.
The son of former NHL player Claude Lemieux, he has 63 points (31 goals, 32 assists) in 257 career games with the Winnipeg Jets, New York Rangers, and Kings
Los Angeles made two additional trades on Friday.
In one, they acquired forward Nate Schnarr from the Montreal Canadiens for defenseman Frederic Allard.
Schnarr, 24, played in 27 games this season for the Laval Rocket of the American Hockey League, registering three goals and seven points. He has 75 points (29 goals, 46 assists) with 166 career AHL games.
A third-round pick of the Arizona Coyotes in the 2017 draft, Schnarr has yet to play an NHL game.
Allard, 25, played in 35 games for the Ontario Reign of the AHL this season, tallying two goals and five assists. He appeared in one game in the 2020-21 season with the Nashville Predators.
In the Kings’ other trade, they sent forward Austin Wagner to the Chicago Blackhawks for future consideration.
Wagner, 25, played in 24 games with the Reign this season, posting 12 points (nine goals, three assists). Taken by the Kings in the fourth round of the 2015 draft, he appeared in 171 games with Los Angeles from 2018-21 and recorded 40 points (22 goals, 18 assists).
