Mark Stone extended his point streak to a career-best 11 games with his 10th goal in those 11 games and the Vegas Golden Knights scored five goals in the third period to rout the Nashville Predators, 7-2, on Saturday night in Las Vegas.

Shea Theodore, Mitch Marner, Alexander Holtz, Cole Reinhardt and Keegan Kolesar each had a goal and an assist and Pavel Dorofeyev also scored for Vegas, which extended its winning streak to a season-high seven games. Akira Schmid made 27 saves to pick up his 15th win.

Luke Evangelista and Filip Forsberg scored goals and Roman Josi had two assists for Nashville, which had a three-game win streak snapped. Justus Annunen finished with 29 saves for the Predators.

Nashville, playing the second game of a back-to-back that began with a 7-3 victory over Colorado in Denver on Friday night, took a 1-0 lead at the 14:10 mark of the first period on Evangelista’s first goal in 10 games. Evangelista, parked in front of the net, deflected a Josi shot over Schmid’s left shoulder.

Vegas bounced back to take a 2-1 lead near the end of the second period, scoring on consecutive shots over a 65-second span. Holtz tied it with a one-timer from inside the blue line that hit the stick of Predator Fedor Svechkov in the slot and caromed under the left arm of Annunen. Theodore followed with a wrist shot from the top of the right circle through traffic and into the top far corner of the net.

Dorofeyev made it 3-1 early in the third period with his team-leading 20th goal. Marner blocked a Josi shot, scooped up the puck and led a 2-on-1 rush before passing to Dorofeyev on the left wing where he chipped in a shot past Annunen’s blocker side.

Three minutes later, Stone finished an odd-man rush by jamming in a Jack Eichel pass inside the left post. Vegas then broke the game open with goals by Reinhardt, Marner and Kolesar midway through the period.

Forsberg finished the scoring with a power-play goal with 21.6 seconds remaining.
