Max Domi’s second goal of the game broke a tie late in the third period Tuesday night as the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the visiting Calgary Flames 4-3.

Domi scored at 17:56 of the third on a setup by Matthew Knies shortly after Calgary had tied the game.

Knies had two goals and an assist for the Maple Leafs, who have won two in a row. Anthony Stolarz made 26 saves.

Morgan Frost, Joel Farabee and Samuel Honzek scored for the Flames in the opener of their four-game road trip. Dustin Wolf stopped 33 shots.

The Maple Leafs completed a stretch of eight of 10 games at home to open the season, going 5-2-1 in the home games.

The Flames previously ended an eight-game losing streak on Sunday with a win over the New York Rangers.

Toronto has won seven straight against Calgary.

Frost’s shot from the lower lip of the right circle put the Flames ahead 1-0 at 4:33 of the first period. Nazem Kadri lugged the puck into the Toronto zone and Jonathan Huberdeau passed to Frost, who fired the rolling puck off the post and in.

Kadri hit the right post with a shot during a Calgary power play at 9:47 of the first. Toronto followed with three consecutive unsuccessful power plays in the period.

Domi tied the game at 3:13 of the second period, finishing a 2-on-1 rush with Steven Lorentz on a shot from the left circle.

Farabee jammed the puck home from the edge of the crease at 17:55 of the second to give the Flames a 2-1 lead.

Toronto tied it at 19:25 of the second when Knies scored from in front of the net after William Nylander’s steal to the right of the goal.

Toronto took the lead when Knies scored with a seven-foot wrist shot during a power play at 3:45 of the third period. Joel Hanley was serving a high-sticking minor.

Honzek tied the game at 14:49 of the third from the slot on a pass from Mikael Backlund following a mix-up by the Toronto defense. It was Honzek’s first career goal.
