Phoenix Mercury guard Natasha Cloud will serve a one-game suspension after reaching the league’s technical foul limit.
She picked up her seventh technical foul on Sunday and the WNBA announced the automatic suspension without pay on Monday.
Cloud, 32, will serve her suspension on Tuesday night when the Mercury (16-17) host the Atlanta Dream (11-21).
Cloud drew the foul with 4:24 left in the second quarter of Sunday’s 97-79 loss to the Las Vegas Aces in Phoenix. She finished with five points on 2-of-12 shooting with six assists in a team-high 38 minutes.
After playing her first eight WNBA seasons with the Washington Mystics, Cloud is averaging 11.6 points, 6.8 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 32 games (all starts) this season with the Mercury.
Phoenix teammate Diana Taurasi also collected her seventh technical foul in Sunday’s game, but the league office later rescinded the foul upon review.
