Washington Mystics forward/guard Elena Delle Donne earned her seventh WNBA All-Star selection Saturday, as chosen by the league’s head coaches and revealed on ESPN.
Delle Donne, the headliner among reserves, is the third most-recognized player on this year’s roster, behind the Phoenix Mercury’s Brittney Griner (nine selections) and the Los Angeles Sparks’ Nneka Ogwumike (eight), who both were announced as starters on Sunday.
Joining Dell Donne as All-Star reserves are the Connecticut Sun’s Alyssa Thomas and DeWanna Bonner, New York Liberty’s Courtney Vandersloot and Sabrina Ionescu, Chicago Sky’s Kahleah Copper, Las Vegas Aces’ Kelsey Plum and Minnesota Lynx’s Napheesa Collier.
Rounding out the reserves are four first-time selections: the Atlanta Dream ‘s Allisha Gray and Cheyenne Parker, the Indiana Fever’s Kelsey Mitchell and the Seattle Storm’s Ezi Magbegor.
Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson and New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart were designated as the two captains on Sunday after receiving the most votes and will draft their rosters from available players on July 8.
The other starters include rookie Aliyah Boston (Fever), Chelsea Gray (Aces), Jewell Loyd (Storm), Arike Ogunbowale (Dallas Wings), Satou Sabally (Wings) and Jackie Young (Aces).
