The NHL postponed Wednesday night’s game between the Chicago Blackhawks and host Buffalo Sabres due to local travel restrictions over the massive snowstorm blanketing the city.
The game has been rescheduled for Thursday night, previously an off day for both teams.
The Sabres held their morning skate while they waited for word to come down.
“It feels like one of those days you’re waiting for the league and city officials to make a decision. Our job is to be ready for tonight’s game until otherwise notified by the league and the city,” Sabres coach Don Granato said before the announcement. “… We’re going to go about our business best we can without being distracted, but I can tell you it is a completely different feeling than a normal gameday.”
The Buffalo Bills had their AFC wild-card game postponed to Monday after a previous snowstorm.
