NHL roundup: Wild’s Kirill Kaprizov extends hot streak

Kirill Kaprizov had two goals and an assist in the Minnesota Wild’s 5-2 road win over the Anaheim Ducks on Friday.

The Wild are 7-1-1 on the road this season, with a league-leading 15 away points. Kaprizov leads the NHL with 27 points (nine goals, 18 assists). The star forward has three points in each of his past two games and has six three-point performances in 14 games this season.

Marco Rossi had a goal and an assist and Brock Faber had two assists. Jake Middleton and Marcus Foligno also scored for the Wild, who are on a two-game winning streak. Filip Gustavsson stopped 33 of 35 shots to earn the win.

Robby Fabbri and Mason McTavish scored for the Ducks, who are 0-3-1 in their last four games. Lukas Dostal stopped 26 of 31 shots.

Kraken 4, Golden Knights 3 (OT)

Jared McCann scored the overtime winner as Seattle edged visiting Vegas.

Brandon Tanev scored twice and Oliver Bjorkstrand had the other goal for the Kraken, who got 21 saves from Joey Daccord.

Nicolas Roy logged a goal and an assist and Pavel Dorofeyev and Alex Pietrangelo scored for the Golden Knights, while Jack Eichel finished with three assists. Adin Hill stopped 28 shots.

Penguins 4, Capitals 2

Evgeni Malkin scored a tiebreaking goal in the third period and had an assist as Pittsburgh beat host Washington.

Erik Karlsson had a goal and an assist, Michael Bunting and Noel Acciari also scored and Joel Blomqvist made 32 saves for Pittsburgh, which had lost two straight and eight of 10 (2-6-2).

Rasmus Sandin and Andrew Mangiapane scored for the Capitals, who had their seven-game home winning streak snapped. Charlie Lindgren stopped 28 shots.

Maple Leafs 3, Red Wings 1

John Tavares scored two goals and Toronto defeated Detroit, improving to 2-0-0 on a four-game homestand.

Mitch Marner added a goal and an assist for the Maple Leafs, and Morgan Rielly had two assists. Toronto goaltender Anthony Stolarz made 21 saves.

Dylan Larkin scored for the Red Wings, who had won their two previous games and were trying for their second three-game winning streak of the season. Cam Talbot stopped 17 shots.
