William Nylander scored at 1:05 of overtime and the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the visiting Minnesota Wild 2-1 on Friday night.

Nylander scored his 33rd goal of the season from close range on a nifty play after taking advantage of a turnover to end Minnesota’s four-game winning streak.

David Kampf also scored for the Maple Leafs, who have won two in a row. Ilya Samsonov made 24 saves for Toronto.

Brandon Duhaime scored for the Wild, who had won their fourth straight game 2-0 on Thursday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Filip Gustavsson stopped 22 shots for Minnesota.

Sabres 3, Panthers 1

Craig Anderson tied a career high with 53 saves to help Buffalo post a win over Florida in Sunrise, Fla.

Kings 3, Islanders 2

Phillip Danault, Arthur Kaliyev and Gabriel Vilardi scored in a span of under six minutes in the second period for visiting Los Angeles, which held on to edge New York in Elmont, N.Y.

Jonathan Quick made 16 saves for the Kings, who snapped a two-game losing streak and broke a tie with the idle Edmonton Oilers for second place in the Pacific Division. Los Angeles has 74 points, one behind the Vegas Golden Knights.

Noah Dobson and Adam Pelech scored for the Islanders, whose two-game winning streak ended. New York leads the Eastern Conference wild-card race with 67 points.

Hurricanes 4, Senators 0

Antti Raanta made 32 saves and Carolina were propelled by two early goals in a shutout win against Ottawa at Raleigh, N.C.

Brent Burns, Seth Jarvis, Martin Necas and Brady Skjei scored as the Hurricanes won their fifth consecutive game and have victories in 12 of their last 13 games. Andrei Svechnikov and Sebastian Aho both had two assists.

The Senators have their first two-game skid since Jan. 20-21. This week’s setbacks came against Boston and Carolina — the teams with the top two point totals in the NHL.

Canadiens 5, Flyers 2

Jesse Ylonen had one goal and one assist to lift Montreal past host Philadelphia.

David Savard, Chris Tierney, Nick Suzuki and Josh Anderson each scored one goal and Mike Hoffman contributed two assists for the Canadiens, who won their second in a row, both by the same score. Canadiens goaltender Jake Allen made 24 saves in the victory.

Owen Tippett ripped a season-best eight shots on goal and scored for the Flyers, who lost their second straight and sixth in their last seven games (1-5-1). Ivan Provorov also added a late goal in the third period. Morgan Frost assisted on both Flyers goals.

Avalanche 5, Jets 1

Mikko Rantanen, J.T. Compher and Nathan MacKinnon each had a goal and an assist for visiting Colorado in a win over Winnipeg.

Bowen Byram and Matt Nieto also scored and Alexandar Georgiev made 26 saves for the Avalanche, who have won four in a row to pull within one point of the Minnesota Wild for third place in the Central Division and within two of the second-place Jets.

Mason Appleton scored and Connor Hellebuyck stopped 21 of 26 shots before he was replaced by David Rittich, who stopped all 10 shots he faced for Winnipeg, losers of four of its past five games.
