Michal Postava made 25 saves and also stopped all three shootout tries and Dylan Larkin scored a 6-on-5 goal with 1:17 remaining to force overtime as the visiting Detroit Red Wings rallied for a 4-3 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night.

The 24-year-old Postava, making his first career NHL start, stopped shootout tries by Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins while Lucas Raymond roofed a wrist shot in the first round for what proved to be the game-winner.

Viktor Arvidsson scored a goal and had an assist, Raymond had two assists and Emmitt Finnie also scored a goal for Detroit, which finished its four-game road trip with a 2-1-1 mark.

Colton Dach had a goal and an assist and Vasily Podkolzin and Isaac Howard also scored goals for Edmonton, which moved one point ahead of the Vegas Golden Knights into first place in the Pacific Division. Tristan Jarry finished with 26 saves.

Kings 6, Rangers 3

Drew Doughty collected a goal and two assists for visiting Los Angeles, which scored three times in the first period and earned a victory over New York.

The result snapped the Rangers’ season-opening six-game home winning streak and marked the Kings’ sixth straight win in the series. Former Ranger Artemi Panarin and Joel Edmonson each collected a goal and an assist, Taylor Ward and Brandt Clarke also scored and Darcy Kuemper made 23 saves.

New Rangers goalie James Reimer allowed three goals on eight shots in his debut for his ninth team. He tied Cam Talbot’s NHL record for the most teams by a goalie. J.T. Miller scored in the first period, Adam Fox had a power-play tally in the second and Tye Kartye tallied in the third for the Rangers, who fell to 1-4-1 in their past six games.

Flames 5, Maple Leafs 2

Matvei Gridin scored two goals and added an assist as Calgary won its fourth straight, halting visiting Toronto’s four-game winning streak.

Captain Mikael Backlund scored to move into a fifth-place tie with Johnny Gaudreau for all-time points as a Calgary Flame with 609. Joel Farabee and Martin Pospisil had a goal and an assist each while Matt Coronato and Simon Nemec added two helpers.
Devin Cooley made 26 saves and received credit for an assist.

William Nylander brought the Maple Leafs within a goal 6:06 into the third, but the home team responded with two empty-netters. Easton Cowan also scored for Toronto, which got 29 saves from Sergei Bobrovsky.
