No. 8 Maryland has lost guard Bri McDaniel for the season to a torn ACL.
McDaniel was the Terrapins’ third-leading scorer, averaging 10.6 points to go with 2.4 assists and 2.1 rebounds in 17 games (two starts) this season. She averaged 21.6 minutes per game.
“We are so sad for Bri. She brings a competitive fire and passion every time she steps on the court and I know she will continue to pour that into her teammates,” Terrapins coach Brenda Frese said in a statement.
The Terrapins (16-1, 6-1 Big Ten) will face No. 7 Texas (17-2, 4-1) on Monday night at the Coretta Scott King Classic in Newark, N.J.
