Patriots quarterback Mac Jones suffered an apparent ankle injury on New England’s last offensive play of its game against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
Jones threw an interception and was brought to the ground by Calais Campbell. Jones’ ankle got caught under Campbell’s thigh, and he immediately got up, hopped on one leg toward the sideline and was seen grimacing in pain.
Patriots head coach Bill Belichick would not comment on Jones’ status following the game, but Boston Sports Journal reported that Jones had to be carried into the locker room and was screaming in pain in the tunnel.
New England lost 37-26 and Jones completed 22 of 32 passes for 321 yards and three interceptions. He also rushed for a touchdown.
In three games this season, Jones has thrown for 788 yards, two touchdowns and five interceptions.
Brain Hoyer is the Patriots’ backup quarterback.
