The New England Patriots released six-year veteran linebacker Sione Takitaki on Wednesday after his lone season with the team.
Takitaki, 29, played in 11 games (four starts) and totaled 21 tackles. He has 289 career tackles with four sacks, 14 tackles for loss, eight quarterback hits, two interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in 83 regular-season games (40 starts) for the Cleveland Browns (2019-23) and Patriots.
He also has 11 tackles and one interception in three playoff games (all starts) for Cleveland.
The Browns selected Takitaki in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of BYU.
