The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired Mathias Laferriere from the St. Louis Blues on Thursday in exchange for fellow forward prospect Corey Andonovski.
Laferriere, 24, was a sixth-round pick by St. Louis in the 2018 NHL Draft.
Laferriere has 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in 33 games this season with the American Hockey League’s Springfield Thunderbirds. He has 70 points (21 goals, 49 assists) in 207 career AHL contests.
Andonovski, 25, has three goals and two assists in 27 games this season with the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. He has 54 points (18 goals, 36 assists) and 182 penalty minutes in 157 career AHL games.
