Pittsburgh Penguins forward Bryan Rust will not play in Tuesday’s game against the visiting Minnesota Wild and is considered week-to-week with a lower-body injury, head coach Mike Sullivan announced.
Rust sustained his injury during the third period of Saturday’s game versus the Vancouver Canucks after being checked into the boards by Nils Hoglander.
Rust, 32, has four points (three goals, one assist) in eight games this season.
A two-time Stanley Cup champion, Rust has totaled 376 points (175 goals, 201 assists) in 575 career games since being selected by Pittsburgh in the third round of the 2010 NHL Draft.
