Already playing without star wide receiver Davante Adams, the Las Vegas Raiders aren’t likely to have counterpart Jakobi Meyers either.
Meyers, whose 25 catches and 273 yards in five games lead the team among wideouts, injured an ankle in last Sunday’s loss to the host Denver Broncos. He was limited in practice on Friday but listed as questionable, before he was downgraded to doubtful on Saturday.
Meyers, who is in his sixth NFL season, has 331 catches for 3,838 yards and 17 touchdowns in his career.
With second-year quarterback Aidan O’Connell expected to make his first start of the season on Sunday when the Raiders play host to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the most prolific wide receiver on the roster will be Tre Tucker, who has 18 receptions for 190 yards. Tucker, Adams and Meyers each has one touchdown reception.
The team added receivers Alex Bachman and Kristian Wilkerson from the practice squad on Saturday.
The Raiders (2-3) are in last place in the AFC West.
