The quarterback-needy Cleveland Browns are bringing in veteran Joe Flacco for a workout, ESPN reported Friday.
The Browns (6-3) are looking for a third quarterback with starter Deshaun Watson sidelined for the rest of the season with a fractured throwing shoulder.
Cleveland has named rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson the starter for Sunday’s AFC North showdown with the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-3), with P.J. Walker serving as the backup.
Flacco, 38, spent his first 11 NFL seasons in the AFC North with the Baltimore Ravens and was the MVP of Super Bowl XLVII. He spent the past three seasons with the New York Jets.
He has 99 career wins in the regular season and 10 more in the playoffs.
Flacco has passed for 42,320 yards with 232 touchdowns and 147 interceptions in 183 games (180 starts) with the Ravens (2008-18), Denver Broncos (2019) and Jets. Baltimore drafted him with the No. 18 overall pick in 2008.
