The Atlanta Falcons are signing free agent cornerback C.J. Henderson pending a medical review, NFL Network reported on Thursday.
Henderson, 26, was selected with the ninth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He chose the Falcons over “several suitors,” according to the report.
He was with the Pittsburgh Steelers last season but did not appear in a game before landing on injured reserve in mid-November with a neck injury.
Henderson lasted only 10 games with the Jaguars before being traded to the Carolina Panthers on Sept. 27, 2021.
He has tallied three interceptions, 16 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and 172 tackles in 49 games (32 starts) with Jacksonville (2020-21) and Carolina (2021-23).
