The New England Patriots and standout cornerback Jonathan Jones have reached agreement on a new two-year deal, NFL Network reported Monday.
The deal is worth $19 million, including $13 million in guarantees, per reports. He’ll carry a base salary of $1.5 million in 2023 and $8 million in 2024, per the reports.
Jones, 29, stated publicly his desire to return to the Patriots in 2023. He set career highs in tackles (69), interceptions (four), passes defensed (11) and forced fumbles (three) in 16 starts for the Pats in 2022.
He has 11 career INTs in 101 games (43 starts) since signing with the Pats as an undrafted free agent in 2016.
The Patriots are also keeping linebacker Raekwon McMillan on a one-year extension worth $2.2 million, according to reports.
McMillan had 35 tackles and one sack in 16 games (one start) for the Pats in 2022, his first in New England.
