The Columbus Blue Jackets are signing forward Sean Monahan to a five-year deal worth $27.5 million, multiple outlets reported Monday.
The signing reunites Monahan with his former linemate in Calgary, Johnny Gaudreau. The pair were 1-2 in scoring with the Flames from 2015-19.
Monahan played in just 140 games from 2020-23 due to hip injuries, including two surgeries.
However, he posted 59 points (26 goals, 33 assists) in 83 games this past season with Montreal and Winnipeg.
Monahan has 538 career points (244 goals, 294 assists) in 764 games with Calgary, Montreal and Winnipeg. The Flames selected him No. 6 overall in the 2013 draft.
He has 52 career game-winning goals.
