The Washington Commanders are signing wide receiver/punt returner Jamison Crowder to the 53-man roster after elevating him from the practice squad for Sunday’s game.
NFL Network and Sports Illustrated reported Monday that Crowder earned a spot on the active roster after returning three punts in Sunday’s win over the Arizona Cardinals. Crowder played five snaps on special teams, returning the three punts for 10 yards. He did not line up at WR.
The Commanders signed Crowder to the practice squad Wednesday.
He was a fourth-round pick by Washington in 2015.
Crowder, 30, played in Washington from 2015-18 and had three seasons with 59 or more catches before spending three seasons with the New York Jets and last year with the Buffalo Bills. He was limited to four games by injuries in 2022 and had six receptions.
He has 415 career catches for 4,667 yards and 28 touchdowns, including 14 TDs with Washington.
