New England Patriots defensive tackle Davon Godchaux agreed to a two-year contract extension worth up to $21 million with $16.5 million guaranteed, multiple media outlets reported on Wednesday.
The reported deal comes one week after Godchaux openly vented his frustration regarding his contract status.
“At the end of the day, I’m playing on no guarantees,” he said. “I want some stability … I just want some respect.”
Godchaux, listed at 6-foot-3 and 330 pounds, provides an imposing presence on the interior of the defense.
Godchaux, 29, recorded 56 tackles and a fumble recovery while starting all 17 games last season. He has 362 tackles, 5.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in 103 career games (92 starts) with the Miami Dolphins (2017-20) and Patriots.
