Still buyers at the NHL trade deadline Friday, the Ottawa Senators added center Patrick Brown in a deal with the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Senators traded a sixth-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft to acquire the depth forward.
Brown, 30, has recorded two goals and five assists in 43 games for the Flyers this season. He has also landed a career-high 125 hits and blocked 33 shots.
In seven NHL seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes (2014-17), Vegas Golden Knights (2019-21) and Flyers, Brown has 19 points (eight goals, 11 assists) in 120 appearances.
Ottawa landed one of the highest-profile names of the trade season Wednesday by acquiring defenseman Jakob Chychrun from the Arizona Coyotes. The Senators entered Friday four points out of a playoff spot in a congested Eastern Conference wild-card race.
