Chicago Sky veteran point guard Courtney Vandersloot suffered a torn ACL in her right knee and will miss the rest of the 2025 season, the team announced Sunday.
Vandersloot was injured Saturday when the Sky lost 79-52 at home to the Indiana Fever. She went down while driving to the basket in the first quarter and had to be carried off the floor.
Vandersloot, 36, returned to the Sky this season after becoming a franchise great from 2011-22 and then spending two years with the New York Liberty.
A five-time All-Star and two-time WNBA champion (once with Chicago, once with New York), Vandersloot ranks second in league history in assists (2,886), 15th in steals (544) and 19th in games played (436).
Vandersloot also became Chicago’s all-time scoring leader last month, passing Allie Quigley — her wife. Vandersloot has scored 3,745 points for the Sky.
Vandersloot averaged 10.6 points and 5.3 assists and 1.6 steals in seven games this season.
