Agot Makeer, the No. 1 combo guard in the nation and the No. 4 overall recruit, committed to South Carolina on Saturday.
The five-star player announced her commitment on social media site X with photos of her wearing a Gamecocks uniform and one of head coach Dawn Staley.
She simply wrote, “no long caption, just know I’m home.”
Makeer’s pledge leaves just one player in the 247Sports composite Top 50 without a commitment: No. 1 Aaliyah Chavez, a point guard, from Lubbock, Texas.
The 6-foot-1 Makeer is from Toronto and plays at Monteverde Academy in Florida. She previously announced her finalists: UConn, Michigan State and reigning national champion South Carolina.
“Towards the end, it came down to no one being able to beat South Carolina,” Makeer told 247Sports of her choice. “There was a lot of back-and-forth between my top schools and I respect all them so much. But I just couldn’t get South Carolina out of my head.”
