The Washington Spirit have signed Ivory Coast forward Rosemonde Kouassi to a four-year contract.
The club announced her transfer Wednesday from France’s FC Fleury 91 Coeur d’Essonne. The transfer fee was not disclosed.
Kouassi, 22, is eligible to join the Spirit next Monday and her deal runs through the end of the 2027 NWSL campaign.
“For me, I wanted to take a step forward and continue to progress, confront myself with a new challenge and a new league,” she said. “I felt a very good feeling with (Washington Spirit) and the project corresponded in my opinion precisely to what I wanted to achieve.”
Kouassi netted 15 goals and eight assists over her last two seasons at FC Fleury 91.
“Rosemonde is an incredible attacking talent and will provide a new element to this club offensively,” said Spirit general manager Mark Krikorian. “She has been impressive in her play at the top level of the European game and we’re thrilled to welcome her to D.C.”
