Dallas Stars top-line center Roope Hintz has been ruled out for Thursday’s Game 1 of the Western Conference finals against the visiting Edmonton Oilers.
The contest will be the third in a row missed by Hintz, who is nursing an upper-body injury sustained in Game 4 of the team’s conference semifinal series versus the Colorado Avalanche.
“His legs are good,” Dallas coach Pete DeBoer said. “The legs are fine. Wind’s fine. He’s got an upper body (injury) that’s keeping him out, but he’s progressing and really close.”
Game 2 of the series is Saturday in Dallas.
Hintz has collected six points (two goals, four assists) in 11 games during the postseason. The 27-year-old had 65 points (30 goals, 35 assists) in 80 games during the regular season.
