Pittsburgh Steelers starting safety DeShon Elliott will sit out Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts due to a hyperextended knee, head coach Mike Tomlin announced.
Elliott is considered week-to-week for the Steelers (4-3), who will work out veteran defensive backs Vonn Bell and Eddie Jackson.
Also on Tuesday, Tomlin announced defensive tackle Daniel Ekuale sustained a torn ACL in the Steelers’ 35-25 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night and is out for the season.
Elliott, 28, missed two games this season after sustaining a knee injury in the season opener against the New York Jets. He has 38 tackles, one interception, one sack and one forced fumble in five starts this season.
Ekuale, 31, had six tackles in seven games this season.
