Tajianna Roberts scored 18 points to lead No. 16 Louisville to an 89-65 victory over No. 17 Tennessee on Saturday afternoon in the Champions Classic in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Roberts, who also had five assists and five rebounds, was one of six players to score in double figures for the Cardinals (12-3).
Imari Berry added a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Reyna Scott scored 12 points.
Zee Spearman collected 18 points and 12 rebounds and Talaysia Cooper chipped in 14 points for Tennessee (7-3).
Beginning with a second-chance tip-in from Laura Ziegler, the Cardinals closed the third quarter on a 15-4 run to take the first double-digit lead of the game.
The Cardinals were able to keep a comfortable cushion for the final quarter, going on to lead by as many as 28 points.
Louisville proved to be dominant inside, winning the rebounding margin 59-37 and outscoring Tennessee 52-38 in the paint.
