Vanderbilt named top seed as 64-team baseball field set

Vanderbilt was named the top overall seed in the 2025 NCAA baseball tournament as the field of 64 teams was revealed Monday.

The SEC had the four top overall seeds in the tournament, with Vanderbilt (42-16), followed by Texas (42-12), Arkansas (43-13) and Auburn (38-18). The conference also had eight of the top 14 overall seeds with No. 6 LSU (43-14), No. 7 Georgia (42-15), No. 10 Ole Miss (40-19), and No. 14 Tennessee (43-16).

Regional games will take place at 16 separate sites between Friday and June 2. The tournament advances to eight best-of-three super regionals from June 6-9.

The eight-team Men’s College World Series will begin June 13 in Omaha, Neb.

First-round locations and teams, in order of seeds at each site:

At Vanderbilt: Louisville (35-21), East Tennessee State (41-15), Wright State (38-19)
At Southern Mississippi (44-14): Alabama (41-16), Miami (FL) (31-24), Columbia (29-17)
At Florida State (38-14): Northeastern (48-9), Mississippi State (34-21), Bethune-Cookman (37-21)
At Oregon State (41-12-1): TCU (39-18), Southern California (35-21), St. Mary’s (35-24)

At North Carolina (42-12): Oklahoma (35-20), Nebraska (32-27), Holy Cross (31-25)
At Oregon (42-14): Arizona (39-18), Cal Poly (41-17), Utah Valley (32-27)
At Costal Carolina (48-11): Florida (38-20), East Carolina (33-25), Fairfield (39-17)
