The Minnesota Vikings released a statement saying they are disgusted at the racial slurs directed at cornerback Isaiah Rodgers on social media after Sunday’s 28-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Rodgers posted on his X account Monday, saying that he received “some of the most racist comments I have seen or read since I enter (sic) the league” in his Instagram direct messages. He shared screenshots on his Instagram account of one fan calling him the N-word and another fan, who later apologized, saying, “ur worse than Hitler.”

“Racism is real. keep football , football,” Rodgers posted on his X account. “Thats not even the worst Ive Seen. Stay solid or stay silent ‘F A N S’ Fake Applause, No Support Or Faithful And Never Switching. Pick a side and stay on it!”

Rodgers signed a two-year, $15 million deal with the Vikings this offseason after spending the 2020-22 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts and the 2023-24 seasons as an Eagle.

He allowed a pair of big-play catches in the Philadelphia loss, including a 45-yard completion to A.J. Brown that ended Minnesota’s comeback effort.

Rodgers accepted responsibility for his coverage issues in the loss, saying, “I put it on me.”

In Week 3, he became the first player in NFL history to score two defensive touchdowns and force two fumbles in the same game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

“We are disgusted by the racial slurs directed at Isaiah Rodgers following yesterday’s game,” the Vikings’ statement read. “As we have said previously, there simply is no room for racist words or actions in sports or society. We support Isaiah and all players who, unfortunately, experience this type of ignorant and prejudicial behavior far too often, and we ask our fans to continue to fight to eliminate racism.”

The Vikings (3-3) are back in action Thursday at the Los Angeles Chargers (4-3).
