Minnesota Wild forward Marcus Folingo was placed on injured reserve Monday with a lower-body injury.
The specifics of the injury are unclear, and the Wild did not release any further details.
Foligno last played in the Wild’s 5-2 loss to the Utah Mammoth on Friday, when he logged 12:34 of ice time on 19 shifts, collecting four penalty minutes. He did not play in Sunday’s 3-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues.
In a corresponding move, the Wild claimed forward Robby Fabbri off waivers from the Blues. Fabbri has a goal and three assists in 15 games with the Blues this season while splitting his time with the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL.
Foligno has been with the Wild since the 2017-18 season. In nine seasons in Minnesota, the alternate captain has recorded 218 points (97 goals, 121 assists) over 576 games.
Foligno has tallied 146 goals and 188 assists (334 points) over 15 NHL campaigns with the Buffalo Sabres (2011-17) and the Wild.
