Marcus Foligno had a goal and an assist, Matt Boldy and Marcus Johansson also scored, Ryan Hartman had two assists and Marc-Andre Fleury made 29 saves for the Wild, who have won three of four, including the first two games of their three-game trip.
Minnesota improved to 9-1-2 on the road.
Corey Perry had a goal and an assist, Leon Draisaitl and Jeff Skinner also scored and Stuart Skinner made 21 saves for the Oilers, who have lost three of four (1-2-1).
The Oilers took a 1-0 lead 27 seconds in when Draisaitl dumped the puck into the Minnesota zone. The puck rolled on its edge toward Fleury before taking a hop just above the crease. Fleury swiped at the puck and missed and it continued through his pads and across the goal line.
After it appeared the Wild tied it at 18:06 of the first on a goal by Foligno, the Oilers challenged for offsides and the goal was disallowed following a video review.
Minnesota tied it 1-1 at 9:56 of the first on a wrist shot from the high slot by Boldy.
Kirill Kaprizov assisted on the goal to extend his road point streak to a team-record 11 games.
Minnesota moved ahead 2-1 when Foligno got to a loose puck in front of the crease and scored at 3:09 of the second period.
The Oilers tied it 2-2 when Perry scored on a wraparound at 6:03, but the Wild moved back ahead 3-2 on a tally by Johansson at 9:10 of the second.
Kaprizov briefly left with an apparent injury, but returned to the bench just as Gaudreau scored to stretch the advantage to 4-2 at 17:02 of the second.
Gaudreau scored again at 9:50 of the third to extend the lead to 5-2.
The Oilers pulled Stuart Skinner for the extra skater and Jeff Skinner scored with 25 seconds left for the 5-3 final.
